Study Skills Expectations
As students enrolled into Study Skills, there are certain standards and expectations that need to be maintained for you to be a successful participant in this program, upon the end of this semester, adequate progress needs to be achieved regarding goals, expectations and standards.

Goals:

1. To explore and maintain organization and time-management skills.
2. To develop and utilize learning strategies to compensate for learning difficulties.
3. To expand knowledge of self-advocacy skills and utilize them to communicate classroom modifications and specific learning needs to classroom teachers.
4. To explore post-secondary options as part of the student’s Individual Transition Plan.
5. To improve test-taking skills as they relate to CAPT and other grade level standardized tests.

Expectations:

1. Attendance, participation, and effort as measured through daily 10 point system.
2. Agenda book, notebook, and class folder use and maintenance
• Accuracy and completion, organization and neatness, maintenance and usage
3. Goal setting and achievement

Standards:

1. To establish an effective standard of student/teacher relationship, communication is critical. If a problem develops in this class, or any other class, talking about it quickly and effectively resolve the little problems that could escalate into larger problems.

2. Based on the nature of this course, tests and quizzes will not be used in assessing your performance. Passing this course depends on a combination of self-assessment, achievement of goals, utilization of skills learned and a daily point system.
