Objectives:

Students will be able to:

· Use all the tools in the toolbox that have been introduced so far

· Apply text, using layers and transform effects

· Research a personally significant text (i.e., poem, quote etc.)

· Develop a mood or feeling about a personally chosen text

· Use the elements and principles of design to create an image

Materials/Resources:

Photoshop program

Handouts – assignment packet,

Criteria:

• Choose a personally meaningful quote, poem, song lyric

• Work can be abstract, realistic or non-objective and must convey the deeper meaning of the text through use of tools in Photoshop

• Use all tools in the toolbox demonstrated so far to create an image

• Use ONLY what we have learned in class so far [DO NOT use other parts of the program even if you know how – your work will not be accepted]

• Use variations of all the tools such as: opacity, brush options, angles, sizes, etc. – words can be split up on to various layers to help convey meaning

• Be inventive – imaginative – and READABLE

• Title your work

• Print, sign and present your image for critique
