The life skills classes offer students the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed during high school and beyond graduation. The focus is on understanding oneself, strengthening relationships, and independent living. TEEN LIVING is the choice for freshman and sophomores. The emphasis is on self-awareness, friendships, relationships, responsible decision making, human sexuality, and lifestyles. LIVING GREEN aka SINGLE SURVIVAL: Living on one's own requires knowledge and skills to make good decisions and solve problems. Students apply practical and informed decision making skills to money mangement, housing, cars, nutrition, and consumerism. Instruction emphasizes sustainable, environmentally sound practices. UNDERSTANDING SELF: ADOLESCENCE TO ADULTHOOD Growing up successfully requires a positive attitude and an understanding of human develoment. Topics include maturity, mental health, communication, reproductive health, and decision making. CONTEMPORARY RELATIONSHIPS AND FAMILY ISSUES: In this class single and married life is considered through a study of love, dating, relationships, and family studies.
