ECE Maritime Studies

Grade: 12 (one credit of English, one credit in Social Studies and three credits at the University of Connecticut to those students achieving a “C” or better in both the English and History sections of the course)

This course is a joint offering of both the English and Social Studies departments and students will be scheduled for both an English class and a History class in consecutive blocks. The literature aspect of the course will be focused on the sea and the history class will concentrate on the effects of the sea on the national and local past, present, and future. The course will include a group rate membership to the Mystic Seaport which is paid for by the individual student.
