ECE American Studies II

 

            Grade: 12 (one English credit, one Social Studies Credit, and the opportunity to

                        earn 3 credits at the University of Connecticut upon completion of the

                        course with a grade of ̉CÓ or better in both the English & History

                        segments of the course.

 

This course is offered in conjunction with the University of Connecticut and upper level and highly motivated students may elect it as long as they are recommended by both their junior English and Social Studies teachers. Students who did not take American Studies I (ECE U.S. History II) may elect to take this course as there is not a prerequisite. This course is designed to approach the study of modern U.S. literature and history from World War II to the current day using a humanities approach. Both the English and History sections must be taken and they will meet in consecutive blocks. This course is designed to replicate a college experience in order to help our students in their transition from high school to the next level of their education.
