FAVORITE POETRY PROJECT

 

Use the above websites to find three poems you enjoy.  The following are a list of guidelines for your poems.

 

  1. You need three poems.  ____________

 

  1. These poems need to be at least ten lines long.  ___________

 

  1. Each poem should fit on one page. ____________

 

  1. These three poems need to be different—moods, subjects, and/or themes. ___________

 

 

  1. Each poem should be written by a different poet.  ____________

 

  1. Readablility—you should be able to read all of the words in your poem.  If you have unknown words, you need to look up their meaning. ____________

 

 

  1. You should be able to explain your poem:    

                  summarize, main idea, imagery, theme, deeper meaning ___________

 

8.   You need to make a creative title page for your poems.  This title page should include the  poemsÕ titles and the poets who wrote them.  Add a little creative decoration to this page.

 

 

Your favorite poems will be graded on neatness and all of the above characteristics.
